Ed Sheeran Is Fighting Ticket Scalpers For Fans

Ed Sheeran is taking a page from Eric Church’s book and is doing his fans a solid, Page Six reports. He’s working with the anti-scalping website Twickets to help people get resale tickets to his sold-out 2018 Australia tour at face value rather than marked up prices. It’s already expensive enough to go to concerts these days and at $168 ticket to a Sheeran concert it’s already steep but, for example, those sold out tickets can be found on other websites for  $3,500. Twickets has over 500,000 users in the United Kingdom and is now launching in Australia. “A lot of artists are very conscious of what it looks like for them when their tickets sell on these resale sites,” says Twickets Managing Director Danny Hannaford. “We offer a fair solution to fans.”

    Ellen DeGeneres Lands Netflix Special

Ellen DeGeneres has landed her own Netflix standup special. “It has been 15 years since I did a stand-up special. 15 years,” DeGeneres said in a statement on Wednesday. “And I’m writing it now, I can’t wait. I’ll keep you posted when and where I’m gonna shoot my Netflix special. I’m excited to do it; I’m excited for you to see it.” Actually this is kind of a full circle moment because Ellen DeGeneres got her start in standup comedy before transitioning into acting and then hosting her own daytime show. Her Netflix project will mark her first standup show since 2000, when she starred in Ellen DeGeneres: The Beginning for HBO

Carrie Underwood Does Throwback To Her American Idol Days

If you look back on all the people who have won or competed in the “American Idol” competition, Carrie Underwood is by far one of the most successful people to be discovered by that show. Since winning season 4 back in 2005 she has gone on to win a whopping seven Grammy Awards and 11 Country Music Awards.  Carrie Underwood took to Instagram on Thursday to reflect on what her life has been like since winning American Idol back in 2005. “12 years later and I’m still not sure how it all happened to me!” she wrote. “12 years ago today, my dreams came true and life has been a dream ever since! I am beyond blessed and so thankful! #AmericanIdol #TBT.”

Listen Now: Billy Ray Cyrus’s Youngest Daughter Noah Releases Country Song “Im Stuck”

Seems as though the entire Cyrus family is trying to follow in the footsteps of Billy Ray Cyrus and get into music. One of the youngest Cyrus siblings, Noah, has released her second single, a country-tinged pop song called “I’m Stuck.” The upbeat track features the 17-year-old singing about falling for “the baddest boy around” and how weak he makes her. “I’m Stuck” will appear on Noah’s debut album NC-17, which is out later this year.  “In my family, I grew up listening to my dad sing country music, but [the album] is definitely different from what I was raised listening to,” she said.
